About SeeID: Good idea, but be careful; it can cause problems in countries where English isn't commonly spoken. I have had my card refused because it didn't have a "signature."

Sadly, Amtrak now does run through PdC. It was rather shocking to see an Amtrak train with passengers coming through last night--kind of surreal. Elizabeth and I were in town at the laundrymat since we can't do laundry here do to our flooding. The Wisconsin Dells is area is totally flooded after the dam burst the day before yesterday, so I assume they are diverting Amtrak service through here to La Crosse. You should try to find some video of it (the Dells Dam bursting) if you can. Houses torn in two and then floating down the Wisconsin River. Horrible.

I've been hit on in Leicester Square as well--but it was by an old Italian guy. Hmmm. I'm probably too late if you've already gone to Bath today, but if I've caught you in time, you cannot possibly truly experience Bath unless you eat at Sally Lunn's (home of the Sally Lunn bun). Here's the website: http://www.sallylunns.co.uk/ Seriously, you won't find a better bun in England. Have fun!

You're right about the Globe being the place where Shakespeare's plays were performed, although the one that is there now was reconstructed in the 1990s, as the original was destroyed by Cromwell's government in the 1640s.

Oh, and I ranted about your use of "ye olde" on my blog, if you're curious: http://anovelaffinity.com/2008/06/warning-rant-ahead.html

Hope your next day of tourism goes more smoothly!

As someone who knows *real* Middle English: it takes more than sticking in random vowels – that only irritates medievalists!

Anyway, I'm glad you got in with minimal difficulty. And an hour of sleep is more than I ever got on transcontinental flights, so you're not doing too bad! But the walking around random parts of London does kind of suck. Enjoy your nap, and keep posting.

Oh, and in case you forgot to look up Ben's Cookies, here's the address in London: http://www.londononline.co.uk/profiles/19948/ – seriously, you have to try Ben's Cookies.
